National Association of Conservation Districts

NACD's mission is to serve conservation districts by providing national leadership and a unified voice for natural resource conservation.

Awards

NACD's annual Awards Program recognizes individuals and organizations for outstanding work and leadership in soil and water conservation. Nominations for 2011 awards will be open August 1 – September 30, 2011, and the winners will be recognized at a ceremony at NACD's 2012 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, NV in January. NACD Awards

NACD Friend of Conservation Award
The Friend of Conservation Award recognizes an individual, business, organization, agency, etc. outside the association for outstanding contributions to the conservation of our nation's natural resources.

NACD Distinguished Service Award
The NACD Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual within the association who has made significant contributions to the conservation and proper management of our nation's natural resources.

NACD President’s Award
Chosen by the NACD President, this award recognizes an individual or organization that has been especially helpful or active with regard to conservation during the President's term.

Partner Awards

NCF Conservation District Award
The National Conservation Foundation is excited to offer this award, through which one winning conservation district will receive $10,000 to carry out a project within their district.

AEM/NACD Partnership Award
As part of their long-standing partnership, NACD and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) have launched an award program recognizing conservation districts' use of and need for equipment. Conservation districts are encouraged to submit proposals for the program's two awards categories: Excellence in Conservation Equipment and Technology Use and Defining Conservation Needs for the Future. One winner will be selected from each category and each will receive a $2,000 cash award, a plaque, and complimentary registration for one day of the meeting. Nominations are open from August 1 – September 30, 2011.

NWTF Outstanding Conservation District Partner Award
The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) seeks to recognize a conservation district or individual that has successfully partnered with a local NWTF chapter or staff to raise public awareness of conservation and wildlife management issues, improve wildlife habitat and increase hunting opportunities.
